Surgical procedures in our outpatient clinic

Operations here are ambulatory surgical procedures Even if general anesthesia is administered, the patient can go home on the same day. All patients are given the private telephone number of their attending surgeon so that they can contact him at any time of day should problems arise. Our patients are assured of complete care and support.

Endoprosthetic hip and knee joint replacements at the Havelklinik

If the diseased hip or knee joint cannot be preserved, despite intensive conservative therapy, we recommend our patients for an artificial joint replacement.

We perform the following endoprosthetic procedures at the Havelklinik:

  • hip joint endoprosthesis
  • resurfacing of the femoral head
  • partial knee resurfacing
  • total knee resurfacing

We conduct the following endoprosthetic procedures:

Hips:

  • Hip joint endoprosthetics (cementfree and cemented)
  • Hip joint surface replacement

Knee:

  • One-sided surface replacement of knee joint (sliding prosthetics)
  • Complete surface replacement of knee joint
  • Coupled revision endoprosthetics

Shoulder:

  • Surface replacement of the humerus (upper arm bone)
  • Partial or full prosthetics of the shoulder
  • Inverse prosthetics of the shoulder

If desired, the patient can request a video documentation of the surgery on DVD.

Arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery

Knee operations for:

  • meniscus damage including meniscus suturing
  • cartilage damage and cartilage tears with free joint bodies
  • stem cell activation using microfracturing, cartilage cell transplant and if necessary, shockwave therapy can be added if necessary, shockwave therapy can be added
  • cruciate and collateral ligament injuries

Ankle operations for:

  • cartilage damage
  • ligament suturing

Hand operations for:

  • Dupuytren’s contracture
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • trigger finger
  • ganglia

Foot operations for:

  • hammer toe
  • bunion (hallux valgus)
